Choosing Organic
More Than Healthy!

Kat & Anna started a website called localchoicescv.com because they saw a need they could meet. They were looking for organic food, and it was difficult trying to find it for themselves. These ladies set out on a search for their own needs to be met, and ended up seeing a community’s need. Their purpose is to connect the consumer with the small natural and organic farmers in our area. Anna has photographed farm goodies all over the valley to put on this site. They have personally met and talked with many of the local farmers (who are passionate about turning out high-quality produce). If you’ve ever wanted to buy anything beyond the occasional roadside strawberries, or wondered if it was even possible to get truly farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, you are going to be pleasantly surprised. These two ladies have devoted their time and energy into making the connections with farmers, and making it convenient and easy for the average consumer to get stellar quality, just-picked food. This is the desire that Kat and Anna have; for normal, everyday people to be able to get the good, organic foods straight from the farmers.

Kat and Anna met years ago at Curves in Hilmar. One was a trainer there, and the other was being trained. They discovered a shared quest for organic foods and healthy life choices. Originally, they wanted to open a store together, stock it with all organic, whole foods and even serve sandwiches. That’s been put on a back burner for now, due to the wonderful response they’ve had with localchoices.com. Some people have commented on their blog that they were so glad just to find out a resource like this existed! Now that’s why they do what they do.
One of the cool things coming up is called Pick & Gather. This will be a family friendly, kids welcomed event held at Riverdance Farms located along the Merced River. There will be a petting zoo, music, poetry, a special area just for kids, and education that doesn’t feel like education, but will be fun! Going to this upcoming event would be a great way to learn and get a cool experience at the same time.
