The First Central Valley
Business Leadership Summit and Business Expo
The Turlock Chamber and Visitors Bureau, in partnership
with California State University, Stanislaus hosted the
first Central Valley Business Leadership Summit and Business
Expo on April 25, 2008. This was a great opportunity for
local businesses to showcase their business and services.
The Expo was open to the public as well as those business
leaders that had pre-registered for the four break-out
sessions. According to the Chamber website, a great deal
of advertising went into promoting the Expo.
California State University, Stanislaus served as the
location for the Expo. It made a lot of sense, considering
that it is located in the heart of the Central Valley.
It also provided a beautiful back drop to the day long
event.
The four topics that were covered during the break-out
sessions were:
The Central Valley’s Economic Outlook
Business Benefits of “Tech Knowledge”
Impacts of Education and Generational Attitudes on Workforce
Legislative Needs of the Valley
The Expo had the look of any high profile expo that I
have attended in the past, usually held in big cities.
The businesses that were showcased provided more than
enough information, as well as passing out marketing materials
to promote themselves. Not only was I impressed with the
presentations of the exhibitors, but I also found some
services that would benefit my business. Attending this
event is going to be something MyTurlock.com looks forward
to in the coming years.

It Up At the Holiday Inn Express
The Holiday Inn Express played the host
to last night’s Chamber of Commerce Mixer. MyTurlock.com
was there and of course, snapping pictures. The service
at The Holiday Inn express was absolutely top notch. I was
greeted by a host as soon as I walked in and was directed
to the mixer. Already a good first impression because the
lobby was nice and everybody looked presentable and professional.
That tells me that the rooms are probably held up to the
same standard. The mixer had a warm atmosphere with good
food, soft drinks and wine, and plenty of people to add
to your list of leads or contacts. The Turlock Chamber of
Commerce put on these events monthly and they always exceed
my expectations. MyTurlock.com looks forward to the up and
coming events.
